First public consultation by the working group on euro risk-free rates on the assessment of candidate euro risk-free rates
This consultation gave interested parties the opportunity to comment on the assessment of candidate euro risk-free rates against key selection criteria.
The selection criteria were defined and adopted by the working group on euro risk-free rates in April 2018. After careful consideration, the working group concluded that three rates possessed characteristics that could potentially qualify them to become the selected euro risk-free rate. The working group agreed that a market-wide consultation to assess the potential advantages and disadvantages of these rates could provide valuable input into the decision-making process.
The working group will use this market feedback as input for their discussions on recommending a new euro risk-free rate. It plans to make its recommendation on the new euro risk-free rate in autumn 2018.
Deadline for submitting comments was 17:00 CET on 13 July 2018.
